AFTER-ACTION REPORT ON THE SUPREME COURT
ORAL ARGUMENT IN THE LOUISIANA ABORTION CASE

PART TWO

Hi, this is Allan Parker again, President of The Justice Foundation and Lead Counsel for The Moral Outcry Petition and Operation Outcry Women Injured By Abortion. I am SO excited to be back with you giving you Part Two of the after-action report on the Oral Argument in the Supreme Court in the Louisiana abortion case which was held on March 4 in Washington, DC at the US Supreme Court.

First, I want to give you a little background leading up to it. It was an amazing day and I give glory to God for being able to put all this together. We actually had courageous Operation Outcry women testifying about their abortions in all three branches of government during this time.

On the first day, Monday, March 2, ten of our ladies gave their oral testimonies in the Cannon Office Building of the U.S. House of Representatives. They were testifying to Members of Congress and staff about the pain that abortion brought them when they took the life of their own child. Even the Supreme Court has acknowledged in Gonzales v. Carhart that "some women come to regret aborting the infant life they once created and sustained." This was the first time the Court ever called it "infant life." They cited to the Brief of Sandra Cano and 180 Women Hurt By Abortion, submitted by The Justice Foundation, pages 22-24. On those very pages of the Brief, the women expressed the agony of taking the life of your own child.

In this case, we represented 2,264 women  as actual Amicus Curiae parties before the Supreme Court and we gave the Court a total of 4,660 testimonies so they could at least partially see the truth of what abortion does to women, as well as killing a child. There are millions of damaged women in the wake of abortion as well as millions of dead children.

The day before Oral Argument, March 3, those women testified in front of the Supreme Court for the media. Later, Cynthia Collins as the Global Consultant of Operation Outcry spoke at the National Press Club about her abortion. Cindy's testimony is further reflected in the legislative record for the Louisiana Unsafe Abortion Act. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals' opinion (below the Supreme Court) which upheld this hospital admitting privileges law also cites her testimony. So that was very, very powerful.

The next day, March 4 was the Oral Argument. Melinda and Denny Thybault were at the Court on behalf of The Moral Outcry Signers outside the Oral Argument.

And I want to thank the many, many, many Prayer Warriors who attended the day before, the day of, and the day after Oral Argument.

Four years ago when Texas lost a similar hospital admitting privilege case, we were vastly outnumbered by mobs of angry, vulgar, chanting people who just overwhelmed the pro-life side. I felt it was part of my job to mobilize prayer onsite at the Supreme Court to counter that atmosphere.

We also organized people praying all around the nation telephonically for 75 hours, the day before Oral Argument, the day of, and the day after, led by Charles Huckabee of Louisiana and Georjean Allenbach of Arizona. Many people came in person and we were able to balance the atmosphere. There were no arrests.

The most outrageous comment from the other side was by Senator Schumer from New York who threatened Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch by name - he didn't even call them Justices - and said "you release the whirlwind and you won't know what hit you" or words to that effect. Click here for news coverage. And it was condemned by almost everybody, even liberal lawyers and commentators.

But overall it was a good atmosphere and I thank all of you who prayed. The atmosphere was well-contained and peaceful, very unlike four years ago.  Now, I am going to tell you on the next video what happened inside the Courtroom.

Please remember to watch for Part Three - coming soon!

Advancing Life, Liberty and Justice in Him,

Allan E. Parker
President
