Zurim Valley the Valley of the Kings from Mt. Scopus

October 17, 2012 Thursday

Mt. Scopus is the ridge on which the British Memorial Cemetery is located. It is a cemetery commemorating the British overthrow of the Ottoman Empire in 1917. As one travels on the ridge the next site is Hebrew University then continuing along the ridge is the Bringham Young Center for New Eastern studies aka the Mormon University for short, continuing on is the Mount of Olives. Looking down from the mountain one looks onto the Valley of the Kings Zurim into the Kidron valley which runs into the valley of Jehoshaphat. On the other or eastern side of Mt. Scopus is the Jordan rift valley which is clear shot view to the Jordanian mountains.

Hebrew University I am getting off the bus going into the entry on display is a picture of Einstein. It is an articulation of his position on the cultural significance of Judaism as he was Jewish. Hmm! What struck me about Hebrew University was the large poster statement that we must save the world. The Mormon's are going to save the world. Everybody is going to save the world. But the whole world needs a Savior. Here is the brain center for the city of Jerusalem. This is an intellectual source of hopeful solutions in which one can feel the high voltage intellectualism. Praise God! We can't save ourselves no matter how hard we try but we know the One who can.

Here I am at the junction of Hebrew University and the Mormon University which happens to be the Zurim forest, the forest of the kings, from this position Mt. Scopus opens up the valley of the kings. The Kidron valley runs through here. Down the Kidron is where the water flows into Hezekiah's tunnel all the way under the rock bed of the Jerusalem Old City.

I salted the entrance way to the Mormon University which was closed due to garden work today. It is the day after the Romney/Obama debate October 17, 2012. Even the gardeners knew that the debate took place last night indeed the world was watching. I salted the entry with a salt cross. I have never heard the cross preached in Mormonism. So we pray for a preaching of the cross. They would become salt of the earth a city set on a hill which this is definitely a hill Mt. Scopus. It is very strategic positionally if you are a student of prophecy. I made salt crosses. I salted the openings. I prayed salt is put on the meat sacrifice before it is burned up. Before it is offered up the meat sacrifice is salted. Salt the meat, salt the flesh, salt the carnal nature. Lord we thank you for the restraint of the salt the implication of a corruption deterrent.

Valley of the Kings the King makers are making a new King I think. We shall soon see from Mt. Scopus. Kathleen
