Yom Kippur- Day of Atonement

Description: Lev 17: 11For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

The holiest day of the Jewish year looks to the coming of the Mesiach, the restoration of Israel, and the final day of judgment of the world. It is the day of purification for the multitude of our sins. The Day of Atonement is day of afflicting one's soul, fasting, and complete abstension from work.

The Torah states that Yom Kippur is the only day the Kohen HaGadol High Priest entered the Holy of Holies to offer a bloodsacrifice for the sins of the people. It is on this day that the sealing of our lives is determined for either for Life or Death. It is the day of ransom if we confess our transgression, repent, turn from our wicked ways, and receive the life blood of Yeshua.

I John 1: 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Heb 10:  11And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The two great atonements given by God are to those nations who turn to Yeshua asking for forgiveness and the cleansing of Israel Yom Adonai the great Day of the Lord at the end of days.
