Tabernacles (Sukkot) Tishri 15-20 Season of Joy

Sukka quickly built huts are built in which the family has festive meals during this time in rememberance of the 40 years in the wilderness after the Egyptian exodus. Later when Israel entered the promised land it is called Chag ha-Asif the "Festival of Ingathering" (of the harvest) at the end of the year.

Three things are commanded:

1. Gather the four species Lev 23:40

2. To rejoice before the Lord Deut 16: 13-14; Lev 23:40

3. To live in a sukka Lev 23:42

Lev 23:33And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 34Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth  day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

Lev 23: 39Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day  shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

It is a time of God's restored fellowship with man.

Ex 29:  45And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. 46And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them:  I am the LORD their God.

God tabernacles with us. God tabernacling in the flesh in Yeshua.

John 1: 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,  (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)  full of grace and truth.
